Bavaria is the perfect choice for wellness holidays with more than 60 spa
destinations, from resorts and towns to thermal baths. Bavaria‘s springs yield waters rich in minerals, salts, and naturally healing properties; you can try Kneipp hydrotherapy in the place where it originated, Schroth health cures, mud treatments, homeopathy and international practices from ayurveda to yoga. Tradition and innovation are two sides of the same coin here. This enables us to offer customised programmes and courses of treatment – incorporating long-established natural methods or the latest fi ndings from medical science. Whether it‘s a relaxing getaway, a period of recuperation, preventative therapy or a holistic course of treatment, Bavaria‘s spa and health resorts with their specialist, state-of-the-art facilities lead the way when it comes to spa and wellness holidays.
Did you know that…
And it is more than just mud
The tradition of health treatments and wellness goes back to 1899. Already a climatic health resort, this small baroque town on the Isar river was elevated to the status of mud spa in 2005. Another plus for active holidaymakers is the beautiful surrounding region. There is so much to discover, which makes the gentle exercise provided by hiking, walking or cycling barely seem like exertion at all. And that‘s good news for both mind and body.
Discover the healing powers of Bad Füssing‘s famous thermal waters. Perfect if you suffer from rheumatism, joint complaints or back problems. Bad Füssing provides an all-round sensory experience for mind, body and soul. In an area of outstanding natural beauty, it offers you a wide choice of events, wellness facilities, exercise programmes and activities. Combining Nordic walking with a visit to the thermal baths is a popular path to a healthier life.
Natural, healthy, action packed and trendy
The beauties of nature, an urban flair, magnificent mountains, Bavarian hospitality and 21st century medical competence attract both young and old to Bad Reichenhall. This town whose history is based on salt, has plenty to offer fans of culture, nature and sport throughout the entire year. Set in the heart of the holiday triangle formed by Salzburg – Berchtesgaden – and Lake Chiemsee, Bad Reichenhall with its naturally occurring brine, mineral mud and mountain pine also offers a divers range of health holidays.
Cultural events range from Mozart to cabaret and the picture book landscape gets every nature lover’s heart beating just that little bit faster whilst sport-lovers are well catered for from spring through to autumn with plenty of walking, mountaineering, white-water rafting, mountain biking and paragliding whilst the winter months are full of cross-country skiing, ice-skating, ice-stock games and sledding on natural sled runs.
Visitors are offered a broad spectrum of therapies and treatments at two thermal baths, several clinics and rehabilitation centres, and hotels and guesthouses with their own wellness and vitality programmes. At this 'premium class' hydrotherapy resort, the holistic treatments designed by Sebastian Kneipp are used to improve physical fitness and strengthen the cardiovascular system. Peat baths, mud packs and pool exercises are also offered. Medical treatments can be combined to help rheumatism, joint and muscle disorders, gynaecological complaints, nervous conditions, nervous exhaustion, disorders of the digestive system and for convalescence. Many of these therapies take place at the Waldsee-Therme health centre, which conveniently brings together a treatment centre, a rehabilitation centre with two clinics and a pool complex under one roof. Here the thermal waters containing fluoride and sulphur bubble up from Upper Swabia's hottest springs at a temperature of almost 65°C. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor activities including a round of golf, a bike excursion to local churches and chapels or a spot of rowing on the lake. Bad Waldsee's idyllic setting on the edge of the Allgäu opens up many exciting opportunities.
